Saskia Struik MMCP B.Ed
Saskia was born and raised in The Netherlands and feels very fortunate to have grown up with graceful Lipizzaners at her family home. Through these earliest connections Saskia came to appreciate and deeply cherish the wonderful nature of horses.
As a child and teen Saskia volunteered at a local stables to work in exchange for lessons. The lessons were taught by the barn owner who excels at training his own Lipizzaner stallions in all the High School movements of Classical Dressage and who received his own training at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna.
After getting married and living around the globe for many years while raising their young family, Saskia and her husband and their three wonderful children moved to Canada in 2009. Horses soon found their way back into Saskia's life with her two elegant Andalusian geldings.
While exploring ways to support the well-being of horses, Saskia came across The Masterson Method®. She loved this form of equine body-work and decided to pursue certification.
Having experience with the benefits of Traditional Chinese Medicine for her own health Saskia also took training in Equine Acupressure and is now a Certified Equine Acupressure Practitioner.
Through her business Saskia has been working with clients applying her skills to support equine performance and well-being and she also mentors students of the Masterson Method® program.
Saskia is a forever student of the horse and is currently enrolled in the 2024 Certification program with Marijke de Jong, creator of Straightness Training and the founder of The Straightness Training Academy.
Saskia is delighted to be joining the Inhand Equine Therapy Team of skilled and dedicated professionals who share her passion to contribute to improving equine wellness and health. She also loves the way that Tina and the Inhand Team work together and are committed to continuous learning and mastery, all in service of their equine clients.
